New Challenges in Christ

When you think about the world around you, what would you like to see change?  It doesn't have to be on a grand scale!  There are situations, circumstances, conditions right here in our own community that we all would like to see improved.  Where is God in the midst of our suffering and the suffering of our neighbors?  There are many answers to that question all beginning with the same words: God is here!

God is here - listening to the cry of our hearts.  God is here - waiting for us to turn and receive love and grace.  God is here - wanting us to respond to God's call.  God is here - through our hands and feet and hearts and voices as we work together in mission and ministry.

This fall we are looking to set some new goals.  That is not because our old goals were unworthy but rather because we have accomplished much of what we set out to do.  We need your help and input as we look at the future.  Your deepest longings and desires for change right here in Mifflin County are what we need to address as we set goals for the future.

How does your heart burn for God's work to be accomplished?  What do you want to do to help God's will be realized here in your hometown?  What gifts and talents for mission and ministry do you have that you would like to use more fully or see grow and develop in you?  These are the questions we will be asking ourselves as we take stock of our ministry and prepare to move ahead.

Talk with each other.  Share your dreams.  Dare to be a prophet in this time and place!  May God bless us all and through the Holy Spirit guide us as we set a new vision for the future of ministry here in FUMC.
